In this video, one of my black belt students here at the Budo Ryu Kai Hombu Dojo, demonstrates one of the various ways of utilizing Shoten-no-jutsu (昇天の術). This technique, (shoten-no-jutsu) translates out as: “The Art of Ascension”. Many people call it the art of ascending to heaven, or ascending / running to heaven. There is no "one way" to do this techniques, and regardless of the translation that people use, it is the basic skill of running up vertical surfaces to then - climb over or jump off of, for the ninja to get to a better position while on a mission or evading from danger.

This lesson is directly for the practitioners of the ancient Japanese koryu martial arts of the ninja and samurai, such as ninjutsu (ninpo) and bujutsu (budo).
