what is Basil Joseph Universe?

The director gained attention in his very first movie which Kunjiramayanam which featured Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Aju Varghese in the lead role. The comedy film released in 2015 and was set in the fictional village of Desam. The movie was a huge hit. Later the director collaborated with Tovino Thomas in his second movie as a director.

The movie was titled Godha and a sports comedy film released in 2017 which was set in a fictional land of Kannadikal. The director is currently working on his latest pan Indian Superhero movie Minnal Murali also starring Tovino Thomas. Which is also set in the fictional village of Kurukkanmoola. Even though each of these movies is entirely different in every aspect it seems that the movie is a part of Basil’s Cinematic Universe. 

In a recent interview with Tovino, the actor revealed some hidden details in the actor’s previous film Godha. According to Tovino, there were shot in the movie where the Desam and Kurukkanmoola villages featuring in the director’s films were being brought into Godha as reference. According to the actor, the buses in the movie had the destinations as Desam and Kurukkanmoola. Is this a start of a Basil Joseph cinematic universe?
