Sainik School Bijapur Celebrates 51st Anniversary on 16 Sept 2014,Tuesday:
Sainik School Bijapur celebrated its 51st Anniversary with great pomp and show at the premises of Sainik School Bijapur.
Air Marshal Ramesh Rai, VM, AOC-in-C, Training Command, Indian Air Force, Bangalore graced the function as the Chief Guest.
The programme commenced with the wreath laying ceremony at the Remembrance Sthal where the Chief Guest paid tributes to the martyrs by laying the wreath. He was given guard of honour thereafter. A special assembly was also held in the Kanthi Auditorium. The Chief Guest also visited various school facilities including school stable, swimming pool complex and gymnasium and addressed the Special assembly being held on the occasion.
Principal Col R Balaji presented the annual school report informing about the stupendous achievement of the school in academics as well as sports during the last academic year.
Recalling the fond memories of his formative years at Sainik School Kapurthala, Air Marshal Ramesh Rai said that Sainik School products have created name and fame in all fields because of holistic development of the personality. He appealed the students to explore opportunities and use the facilities to the utmost level to accomplish great feats in their life. He exhorted the students to pursue their goal with focused approach and in disciplined manner so that they can be successful in whichever field they choose.
He said that the country needs dynamic and visionary leaders for the rapid development and scientists for scientific and technological progress. The country will move forward if there is determination and desire to excel. He called upon the cadets to face the challenges of life with confidence by believing in their own potentials and capabilities in order to overcome the obstacles with confidence.
On the Foundation day on Tuesday, 16 Sep, the Chief Guest awarded the trophies to the houses for their splendid achievement and Commendation certificates to the teachers for their dedication and commitment to the work. Cock House trophy was bagged by Rashtrakoota house. The winners in Best House in Seniors and Best House in Juniors were Rashtrakoota house and Adilshahi house respectively. Cadet Chetan Kabade was awarded the Prashant Kesnur trophy instituted for the most creative cadet. Music teacher Mr. C.N.Jadhav was felicitated for his outstanding service spanning over three decades.
Anniversary Cake cutting function was held at the newly constructed Indoor Stadium of the school. The cake designed as replica of Gol Gumbaz was made by Mr. Yusuf Kaladagi under the guidance of Mess Manager Mr. PMC Babu.
During the Special Assembly, the Chief Guest lighted the ceremonial lamp. It was followed by the invocation song sung by the cadets of the school. Cadet Sudhakar Dombale introduced the Chief Guest.
Maj Gen (Retd) KN Mirji, Registrar Wg Cdr E Srinivas and Senior Master GSR Murthy were present on the occasion.
A number of programmes were organized during this celebration. On the eve of the foundation day, on Monday, 15 Sep, there were fascinating displays and variety entertainment programmes to showcase the activities of the school and expose the latent talents of the cadets. The displays included mass PT, gymnastics, karate, aerobics, vaulting horse jump, lezim and band display in the afternoon and cultural programme in the evening.
Mesmerising displays and fabulous shows by the cadets evoked cheers of the spectators. A large number of parents and students attended the function.
