Rivian - RIVN was founded in 2009 by RJ Scaringe and the company has been developing electric vehicles since then. Namely, an electric pickup trick, known as the R1T, and an electric SUV, known as the R1S. Large, well-known companies, specifically Amazon and Ford, made investments in the company when it was private. The company recently had its initial public offering, amid ample controversy due to its sky-high valuation. Rivian only recently began deliveries of the R1T, with deliveries for the R1S set for a later date. In total, the company has booked nearly 50,000 refundable deposits for its pickup and SUV. In addition, Amazon has ordered 100,000 commercial electric delivery vehicles (EDV) as the company endeavors to electrify its fleet. With nearly 150,000 pre-orders between commercial and consumer vehicles, it would appear that Rivian is an an optimal position for success. However, the company faces significant obstacles, which will be covered in this video.
