How to change polarity from a negative, into a positive. Most aftermarket alarms and remote starter boxes use negative outputs to control things such as door locks, trunk release, dome lights, etc, but most of these items are positively switched..... how can you use a negative output to control these accessories? With a relay. We use the negative output to turn on/off a relay, and the relay passes the positive through to the load.
