Where will you be fulfilling your basic training obligations? Lets go ahead and review. The army has five locations where you fulfil your basic training duties. Number one, Fort Benning, Georgia. If you're going into infantry this is probably where you're going to serve. Fort Jackson, South Carolina, which is the largest of our locations. You can go where I served, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, also called Fort Lost In The Woods. If you're going to be going into engineering, chemical warfare, military police that will all be at Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Sill, Oklahoma, if you're going to be going into artillery that's where you're going to be serving. Fort Knox, Kentucky, which will actually close soon. And female recruits are sent to Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Sill or Fort Jackson, which have gender integrated basic training regiments. The air force has only one location, Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. And the navy also has only one location, The Great Lakes Naval Training Centre, on the Western shore of Lake Michigan in Great Lakes, Illinois. The marines have two locations for basic training, Paris Island in South Carolina, and Camp Pendleton in San Diego. If you're a female you're going to end up at Paris Island. The coastguard has only one location for basic training, that's in Camp May, New Jersey.
