Toyota now has a massive seven SUVs in its range we have hopped behind the wheel of the newest — the Toyota Forutner. The Fortuner sits alongside the Kluger and offers buyers a more affordable diesel SUV option that can also go off road.

With seven seats and a chassis based on the HiLux, we test the Fortuner both on road and off road to see if this latest SUV has been worth the wait.

Launching with the option of three variants, the Fortuner will take on the recently launched Ford Everest and established players like the Isuzu MU-X, Holden Colorado 7 and the Mitsubishi Challenger.

The Toyota Fortuner boasts impressive off-road credentials, along with the benefit of thousands of kilometres of local engineering and testing, with Toyota’s local engineering team involved in a great deal of design and testing for the Fortuner.
