A meditative marivere followed by scintillating swaras by the legends.

Suswaralaya College Of Music® headed by Ganakalashree Vid H S Sudhindra hit a major milestone recently, completing 20 meaningful years of service to the field of Carnatic music. To celebrate the same, a grand music festival was organized at Pathi Sabhangana, N R Colony from November 1st to 4th.

A huge number of rasikas gathered witnessed an outstanding violin duet concert by the very popular Violin Maestros Vid Mysore M Nagaraj and Vid Dr Mysore M Manjunath. They were accompanied by equally adept percussion maestros Vid Arjun Kumar and Vid B S Purushotham. The brothers started their concert with the famous Abhogi varna Evaribodha followed by a meditative Nasikabhushani raga and Thyagaraja’s Maara Vairi Ramani with splendid swaras. Then came a chaste alapana of Anandabhairavi raga for Shyama Sastry’s master piece Marivere gatiyevvaramma followed by enchanting swaras. A crisp Manasuloni marmamulu(Hindola) with spellbound kalpana swaras brought the audience to the edge of their seats. Then came the majestic kambodhi alapana followed by Dikshithar’s evergreen Marakathavalli thrilled the gathering. Ragamalika swaras in Neelambari, Vasantha Bhairavi and Behag was followed by an exceptional thani avarthana by the percussion duo. The concert ended with a wonderful tillana.
