You may not recognize British actor Robbie Coltrane if he didn’t have a huge beard, long hair, and a long brown overcoat. Coltrane will always be remembered for playing the half-giant- half-human gamekeeper and Keeper of Keys and Grounds of Hogwarts, Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series.

Before landing the career-defining role Coltrane was already an acclaimed actor in Britain particularly for his television roles in the miniseries Tutti Frutti and tv series Cracker.

Coltrane starred as Hagrid in all of the Harry Potter movies and he was one of the most beloved characters on the film franchise. So, why has Hollywood stopped casting him?
