Having traveled to more than 60 countries across six continents, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Eduardo Angel is no stranger to adventures. But donating 90% of his belongings to circle the globe for 18 months proved to be a different kind of challenge. Eduardo Angel is an Emmy Award winning Visual Storyteller, independent Technology Consultant and Educator living and working between Brooklyn and Lisbon.

Holding in MFA in Photography and a Bachelor of Architecture, Eduardo has taught at the best art and design schools in the U.S, abroad and online. In 2014 he received a prestigious Emmy Award for his cinematography work.

Eduardo and his wife Catherine just completed an 18-month sabbatical around the world. The journey, which took them to 20 countries and close to 200 cities, had three simple goals: spend more quality time together, recharge their creative souls, and improve Eduardo’s craft as a storyteller. To this date he has traveled to over 60 countries and has no plans to stop.

Assisted by a team that includes composers in Morocco and Brooklyn, a writer in Chicago, video editors in Lisbon, and a motion graphics artist in Hong Kong, Eduardo is currently developing a long-term project called Visual Serendipity that involves interactive, multimedia stories focused on local culture within the travel context.

By showing the sights, sounds, and energy of a place with a unique point of view, the Visual Serendipity aims to help people make sense of new information and ideas, and create a platform where the viewer becomes part of the story.

Eduardo regularly publishes his thoughts on technology, photography, and cinema on his website eduardoangel.com and on a wide variety of trade publications.
