Buying Ann Arbor Real Estate | Problems If Sprinkler Systems Are Not Maintained

One feature that is very popular now on up scale homes is a lawn sprinkler system.

If you want your grass green through the summer and fall in most years in this area you'll need to water your lawn and buried sprinkler systems automate that process.

However, along with the water bill there is another responsibility that comes with using a sprinkler system.

Since it freezes every winter here you will need to blow the water out of your sprinkler system or pay a contractor to do that for you.

Sometimes, that effort gets neglected when a home owner is going through some life changes or when a up scale home is foreclosed by a lender.

In those cases it is not unusual to see problems come up with frozen sprinkler systems and this video shows you two of those situations:


Note that I've never been to a home inspection where the regular home inspector checks the sprinkler system. Like other low voltage systems most inspectors do not check them.
