Welcome to our first-time watching Gladiator (2000) movie. This incredible epic historical drama film was directed by Ridley Scott. The performances in this film were amazing, Russell Crowe who plays Maximus did an incredible job at setting up who his character was through subtill choices in his acting.

Joaquin Phoenix did a fantastic job in this! Playing Commodus the main antagonist of this film he delivered a nuanced and complex performance that leave you wondering if there was still a good side to Commodus.

This film transports us to ancient Rome, where betrayal, revenge, and honor collide in a sweeping tale of epic proportions. "Gladiator" follows Maximus Decimus Meridius, a betrayed general turned gladiator, who seeks vengeance against the corrupt emperor who takes his family away from him.

This film has it all! Some incredible visuals, fantastic performances and an incredible score composed by the one and only Hans Zimmer.
