Welcome to part 1 of the new "Parthia Rises" series! The series will cover the rise and fall of the Parthian Empire. The episode starts with a bit of background for those new to the channel or who have not watched the "Persia Rises" series.

In the chaos after Alexander's death, several new Hellenistic Diadochi kingdoms and empires were carved out of his empire. They fought wars for roughly 40 years.

During the chaos a tribe of Iranian nomads called the "Parni" saw an opportunity to sweep in and conquer the territory known as Parthia. In time they would refer to themselves by that name and form an empire. However, it would happen slowly over decades but its momentum could not be contained by the Seleucid's who would continue to lose ground until being absorbed by the Romans and disappearing from history.
