Transgender rights in sport giving Australian female tennis players ‘short shrift’

Sky News host Chris Kenny says transgender rights in sport are giving Australian female players “short shrift”.

“Making headlines around the world this week is the news that Tennis Australia is lobbying the international tennis bodies to continue to allow transgender players to compete in women's competitions,” Mr Kenny said.

He said Liberal Senator Claire Chandler criticised Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley for “trying to prevent the world bodies from protecting women’s competitions”.

“As the Senator points out, all this deference to diversity and inclusion, if it pits biological males against girls and women, well then it doesn’t allow for the simple right, the very important inclusion, of women in sport,” Mr Kenny said.
