Today's tutorial is an update from a video that I did a few years back that you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrvfNPOCb7w

In that video, I discuss how there really wasn't any type of technology to remove filler words from a podcast.

Fast-forward to present day and that technology now exists and continues to get better every single day.

So today, I want to walk you through one of the program applications that does this. Today we will dive into Descript.

Descript is an application where you can record and edit your podcast, but the application has tons more uses. For this particular video, you're going to watch me import a piece of audio from my own podcast and have it transcribed. But we'll take it a step further and remove all of the filler words within a few clicks. Then I will export the file from Descript into a Microsoft Word document.

Here are today's time codes for you:
00:00 - Intro
00:38 - Check out my podcast The Podcast Therapist. Subscribe wherever you get podcasts or go to http://www.thepodcasttherapist.com/podcast
01:10 - A recap about my previous video done 2 years ago on the same topic

05:03 - Identifying the Media File menu, the dropdown and how to transcribe your audio file
07:29 - How to remove filler words from the transcript file and audio file--words like um, uh, ya know, well and more.
