Four former users come together to discuss:

1. J.D. Williams is a retired Marine Corps colonel with 26 years of active duty as an intelligence and Russian Foreign Area Officer. He then worked as the Research Director for the Defense Intelligence Agency's analytic directorate, the Chief of Intelligence Support for the Department of the Treasury, Director of Military Plans and Operations at the National Security Agency, and National Intelligence Officer for Military Issues at the National Intelligence Council. 2. William "Bill" Marcellino, Ph.D., served as a U.S. Marine tank officer and enlisted rifleman. He received his Ph.D. in rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University. He is now a social and behavioral scientist at the RAND Corporation and a professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. He develops analytic toolsets, including RAND-Lex, RAND's proprietary text analytics suite. 3. Rob Cogan served as a US Army Armor officer for ten years, including on deployments to Iraq. He served as a M1A2 Sep V2 Platoon Leader, a M3A3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle Platoon Leader, a Stryker Infantry Company XO, an Armored Cavalry Troop commander, a Combined Arms Battalion Assistant Operations Officer (Plans), and finally as a Battalion Executive Officer. He received a BA in History and an active duty commission at Virginia Tech. As curator of the U.S. Army Armor & Cavalry Collection at Fort Benning, Georgia, he is responsible for the Armor Branch's material history. 4. Bruce Oliver Newsome, Ph.D., crewed M1 Abrams in the National Guard while studying for his PhD in International Relations, worked as a political scientist at the RAND Corporation - specializing in ground maneuver acquisitions, taught at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom - where he certified in the AFV Design Courses, and has held further full-time faculty positions at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California Berkeley.
