For the first time, Mahesh Babu has dared enough to put aside so called sentiments of Tollywood in case of Srimanthudu and has believed in the story of the film as well as his instinct. Srimanthudu Story Srimanthudu is about a rich guy called Harsha, who believes in doing what his heart says. Though he has everything in life at his foot step, there is something else he desires to accomplish. What sets his goal and what wonders his determination does forms the story. Performances Mahesh Babu exactly fits in to the role of a rich and ambitious guy and his intense performance elevated the heroism in the movie to a different level. Mahesh seems to have concentrated much on his weaker sides in this film and appears to have worked alot on his dance moves. Shruti Haasan plays Charuseela a strong and sweet girl next door with prefixed way of living. She manages to spill her magic here and there and was adorable in song sequences. All the other seasoned actors including Jagapathi Babu, Sukanya and Sitara were aptly cast while Rajendra Prasad sounds too cliched in some of the key scenes. Technical Aspects Director Koratala Siva breaks the so called 'second film sentiment' and comes out with flying colors. Srimanthudu calls for a much deserved success for the director as he has delivered a film with full of content rather than a mere commercial cinema. However, he failed to keep the screenplay engaging and the film looses it's pace many a times. Devi Sri Prasad though scored an average with the songs, he gave his best in terms of background score. DOP Madhie was top class and the Mythri movie makers seems to have spent the money at the right places.
