I was an English major so I thought that I was doomed to a low income life, but Financial Independence is not out of the picture. One day I woke up and decided that I was going to be good with money. By taking small steps toward my goal and applying these 5 principles, I've managed to double my net worth in just two years. It's still a journey, but I'm heading in the right direction.

Know your income, your expenses, your debts/liabilities, your assets. mIght be difficult at first - I didn’t pay attention when I was in debt and spending more than I made. Keeping track led me to extreme clarity and feeling of accomplishment.
Know your expenses and plan to keep them as low as possible/ Victory over Credit card debt.
Increase your income - every little bit helps. Plant seeds. Be consistent For example, I started posting youtube content 6 years ago and only recently monetized.
Learn all you can about investing!
