Ajith Kumar (born 1 May 1971) is an Indian film actor best known by his mononym Ajith. He has starred in over 50 films, predominately in Tamil cinema. In addition to his acting, Ajith Kumar in a sabbatical, participated in the 2004 British Formula 3 season as a Formula Two racing driver and was ranked the third best motor car driver in India at his peak.

He began his career with a small role in the 1990 Tamil film En Veedu En Kanavar. His first lead roles were with the films Amaravathi (1993) and Prema Pusthakam (1993), and his first critical acclaimed appearance was in the thriller Aasai (1995). He subsequently established himself as a romantic hero with Kadhal Kottai (1996), Aval Varuvala (1998) and Kadhal Mannan (1998). Successful films such as Vaali (1999), Mugavaree (2000), Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000) and Citizen (2001) followed. He established himself as an action hero with films such as Amarkalam (1999), Dheena (2001), Villain (2002), Attahasam (2004), Varalaru (2006), Mankatha (2011), Arrambam (2013), Veeram (2014), Yennai Arindhaal (2015) and Vedalam (2015).


Joseph Vijay known professionally as Vijay, is an Indian film actor, and a playback singer who works primarily in Tamil cinema, Vijay is referred to by the media as Thalapathy (commander).

Vijay was born to S.A. Chandrasekhar and Shoba in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Vijay initially appeared as a child actor in special appearances under his father directed films, starting with Vetri (1984) to Ithu Engal Neethi (1988). He made his debut under his father direction as a teen-age lead actor in Naalaya Theerpu (1992) but his first successful film as lead actor was Poove Unakkaga (1996), which was directed by Vikraman. To date, he has acted in 61 movies as a lead actor and has won three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, one Cosmopolitan Award, eight Vijay Awards, three Edison Awards, two Vikatan Awards and nominated for one National Award UK. Vijay as a playback singer has sung 32 songs to date.
