Celebrities took to the red carpet on Monday for the annual fundraising gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for this year's Met Gala, with a theme of "Gilded Glamour."

The event carried a white tie dress code, meaning the fancier the better, and asked attendees to "embody the grandeur - and perhaps the dichotomy - of Gilded Age New York" in the latter part of the 19th century.

Hosts Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were joined by others dressed head to toe in glamour, including Anna Wintour, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashton Sanders and Janelle Monae.
