About our hosts:

Praruj Pant graduated from Duke with a B.S. in neuroscience and is now a third-year Duke MD student who hopes to become an ophthalmologist. In undergrad, Praruj participated in neuronal imaging research and contributed to global neurosurgery. Now, he studies how retinal and choroidal imaging can be used to predict the presence of neurodegenerative disease. Praruj’s experience tutoring Duke student-athletes in organic chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology and years of advising athletes, colleagues, and friends on the medical school admission process positions help him expertly guide candidates to craft stand-out medical school applications.

Nakia Sarad is a UCLA grad, earned her MD from the Touro College of Medicine, and is currently a senior General Surgery Resident at New York-Presbyterian/Queens - Weill Cornell. Along with her accomplishments in the medical realm, she also has extensive experience with mentorship for over 10 years. She has tutored high school and medical school students independently and as a member of the Med-Achieve organization at Touro College. She has also served as a Graduate Admissions assistant and continues to use her admissions experience to help students stand out in the medical school application process.
