I purchased this to replace a Bremshey cross trainer which had lasted about 5 years before a vital part suddenly snapped due to what must have been metal fatigue - and frankly we hadn't been using the thing more than once a fortnight. The JTX X7 was far easier to put together than the Bremshey - fewer parts to fit and they thoughtfully supply a screwdriver and spanners. Ideally the assembly should be done by two people but I did most of it by myself despite having a bad shoulder. The build quality is excellent. Unlike my Bremshey, no creaks and squeaks during use, and the electronic control panel is touch screen, backlit and state of the art. The unit takes up less floor space than I expected, actually. You certainly need two people to carry it from room to room. It came with a belt to wear around your chest to monitor your pulse rate, if you prefer not to keep your hands pressed against the metallic sensors on the handles. I think I could probably get used to using this every day....!Update... after about 6 weeks it developed excessive play between the two sides of the flywheel which resulted in a thump as the flywheel rotated. The supplier quickly offered to replace the part, which I duly fitted. Excellent service from the supplier. |
