Presumptive US Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his newly chosen running mate, Senator Kamala Harris, made their first campaign appearance on August 12, 2020. The pair spoke at a high school gymnasium in Biden’s hometown of Wilmington in the state of Delaware. The event came a day after Republican incumbent President Donald Trump launched an unprecedented attack against his Democratic challenger. Trump accused former vice-president Biden and his boss former president Barack Obama of “treason” claiming they were “spying” on his campaign in 2016.
