Hiatal (Hiatus) Hernia | Risk Factors, Types, Signs & Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment

Hiatal (hiatus) hernia is a condition involving herniation (bulging) of part of the stomach through the diaphragm and into the chest. There are several risk factors that increase the chances of having a hiatal hernia. There are four types of hiatus hernia, stated as type 1-4. In this lesson, we discuss all of the risk factors for getting a hiatal hernia, the 4 types of hiatal hernia, the signs and symptoms, how it’s diagnosed and how it’s treated.
