The Voices in Leadership webcast discussion series at Harvard T. H Chan School of Public Health invites leaders to speak about their experiences making decisions that affect global health. Highly interactive and candid, the series is produced in The Leadership Studio for a student audience. The high-definition webcast is streamed live and posted for future viewing. Students learn from experienced leaders about decisions that were effective, decisions that failed, and which decisions, if any, could have been made differently. Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate served as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Health from 2011-2013. Prior, he was the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in Abuja, Nigeria. Dr. Pate is currently a professor at the Duke University Global Health Institute. He also serves on the agenda committee of the World Economic Forum and is a member of the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Vaccination and Humanitarian Emergencies at the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva. Dr. Pate is an American Board-Certified MD in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and holds an MBA (Health Sector Concentration) from Duke University, and a Masters in Health System Management from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. In fall 2016, he is serving as a Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.
