Powering Michigan’s Clean Energy Future
Energy. Environment. Economy. Often, these priorities seem at odds with one another. Not so with the wind farm we will operate in Gratiot County. The $260 million Gratiot Farms Wind Project creates a new source of clean, renewable energy from the wind that blows across our state. This protects the environment while bolstering Michigan’s economy and creating jobs. Located in North Shade and New Haven Townships in Gratiot County, the project will include 60 wind turbines and is expected to have a capacity of up to 150 megawatts of wind energy. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2019 with commercial operation expected to start in late 2020. At Consumers Energy, we’re pleased to continue the commitment we’ve made to this state for 130 years. We appreciate your support for the Gratiot Farms Wind Project, which will help power the future for Gratiot County and Michigan. |
