Hey kids, its your good buddy Uncle Ben Eller! In this deep dive lesson, i'm gonna show you all the weird and wonderful world of native and non-native time feels. This is something i've been using for YEARS to add variety into my playing, plus double the firepower of any sequenced lick that i learn. Its essentially the idea that just because a lick was written with a certain rhythmic subdivision in mind (like triplets), that doesn't mean we can't play it as a different subdivision (like 16th notes). A lot of times when we use a non-native time feel, it makes the pattern very hard to discern to the listener, which makes it a lot less predictable and WAY more interesting. This is also handy for when you have a favorite sequence thats either too slow or too fast for the song you're using it in!
Gear: Suhr Modern Satin, Peper's Pedals Dirty Tree, TC Sentry Noise Gate, Paul Reed Smith Archon 50 mkII. Lovely amp!!!
