We’re discussing the importance of Autism awareness and acceptance with Dr. Rebecca Landa, founder and director of Kennedy Krieger’s Center for Autism and Related Disorders. Also joining us is Andy Stettner, an Autism dad and Vice President, Howard County Autism Society.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is defined by The Autism Society of America as a complex, lifelong developmental condition that typically appears during early childhood and potentially impacts a person’s social skills, communication, relationships and self-regulation. CDC reports that 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with autism.
