The United States Army and the British Army are two of the most global military powers, both nations have been almost constantly at war for the past 100 years (in the case of the UK for the past 500 years) and as such the USA and UK have among the highest military expenditures of any nation in the world, and are the two biggest spenders on military science and engineering. As a result both nations field some of the most advanced military equipment that can be found on the 21st century battlefield.

Main Battle Tanks are the armoured fist of any nation and provide a powerful imposing mobile power capable of engaging enemy tanks, infantry and buildings and artillery positions. The Challenger 2 and the M1 Abrams have both been called "the Greatest MBT in the world" and in this video i explore some of the reasons for this.

The Challenger 2 is the end of a long line of extremely successful British Tank designs stretching from 1945's Centurion to the Challenger 2 of the present day, it uses the most advanced armour system in the world, British Chobham Armour and is one of the most successful tank designs in the world, During the 1991 Gulf War it was the only Tank model not to suffer a loss to enemy fire. In the 2001 Invasion of Iraq a Challenger 2 was hit 14 times by RPG's and 1 time by a MILAN anti-tank weapon and was virtually undamaged proving the Tanks reliability in the field.

The M1 Abrams is one of the most successful tank designs of the 20th and 21st Century and has seen action in virtually every conflict the USA has been involved in during the second half of the 20th Century, However it was most acclaimed in the first Gulf War where it easily out performed the Iraqi Soviet Built tanks.
