A police constable, who was on duty, was allegedly crushed to death by the sand mafia near Narayanpura village of Jevargi taluk in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district. The incident occurred on Thursday when constable, Mayura, 51, from Nelogi police station was trying to stop a truck which was transporting illegally mined sand. The driver ran over the constable.
