Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid prepared for the Madrid derby against Atletico at the Vicente Calderon on Saturday night, hoping to keep their local rivals at arm's length as they hope to secure second place in the table behind champions-elect Barcelona.

Aitor Karanka, Real Madrid assistant coach:
(On Real Madrid's second leg in the Champions League semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund)
"We are playing the return match next Tuesday, but we are giving more importance to the game tomorrow because we are playing against the maximum rival for the second place, plus they are rivals from the same city so all we can think about is winning that game. In the changing rooms, players an coaches, only speak about the match tomorrow and nothing about next Tuesday".

"This is a match they have not won in so many years so we will have to give our 120 per cent. We have to play as intense as they will. They have had quite a good year playing at home, almost unbeatable, and as I said we will be playing for the second position and on the derby. Everybody wants to win this and they have not won it in years, so we have to come out to the pitch with all our intensity".

"If you saw the game the other day, everybody said the one who played the best was Diego Lopez. So that´s clear for us, he will play tomorrow, and the rest of the team we will see about that. Some of them are injured, some others very tired, so we will see tomorrow".
