Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden has defended the UK government and says they were prepared for Covid-19. The government has come under criticism after an article by the Sunday Times claiming the UK "lost a crucial five weeks" to tackle the threat posed by the coronavirus. The government have refuted the claims and described elements of the investigation as "plainly untrue" and "ridiculous".
