Did you know that in Pacific Rim |
|
Did you know what the post-credits homage means in Pacific Rim? It goes without saying that Pacific Rim is an homage to classic monster flicks. From Hellboy to The Shape of Water, Guillermo del Toro is known for his creature films, and Pacific Rim is undoubtedly the biggest of them. The homage to the movie, which occurs right after the credits at the very end, is how Del Toro chose to pay tribute to his influences. Ray Harryhausen and Ishir Honda - two masters of the monster, are honored in this movie. From the 1940s until the 1980s, Ray Harryhausen used stop-motion animation to create some of the most iconic monsters, earning him credits in films like Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans. As a matter of fact, Godzilla and several sequels were written and directed by Ishiro Honda.
