A Night of Tunes an' Tales

Ooit ging Scrum naar Schotland om zich te laten inspireren. Dat was in 2008 en het is achteraf gezien ruimschoots gelukt. Na 2 seizoenen 'A night at the pub', waarin Scrum kennis maakte met het theater en theater minnend Nederland met Scrum, wordt de kroeg verbouwd. Een nieuw interieur, nieuwe verhalen, nieuwe whisky's en natuurlijk nieuwe songs zijn het resultaat.

"Sluit je ogen en waan je in een Schotse kroeg..." Niets blijkt minder waar bij deze theatervoorstelling.

Je raakt verslaafd aan het enthousiasme en spelplezier van deze muzikanten. In hun eigen theaterkroeg beleven ze elke avond bijzonder grootse, uitzinnige uitbarstingen, welke afgewisseld worden door kleine intense momenten. Geniet met volle teugen van saamhorigheid, vriendschap, muziek en drank. De akoestische folk met een keur aan instrumenten (gitaren, viool, banjo, mandoline, accordeon, drums, piano, tin whistle en bagpipes) doet je met een glimlach de zaal verlaten.

In 'A Night of Tunes an' Tales' brengt Scrum wederom het Schotse muziekgevoel tot leven, op dezelfde manier zoals dat in de Schotse en Ierse pubs wordt ervaren: geen enkele avond is hetzelfde!

Sinds een aantal jaren is Scrum een graag geziene gast op menig festival in binnen- en buitenland (België, Frankrijk, Schotland, Denemarken, Italië). Ze deelden reeds de bühne met o.a. The Dubliners en Dougie MacLean en waren in 2009 de ontdekking van het internationale Skagen Folkfestival in Denemarken, waar ze sindsdien niet meer weg te denken zijn. In het voorjaar van 2012 presenteerde de band haar eigen single malt scotch whisky. De zes gedreven muzikanten en een zingende barvrouw met een grote liefde voor rauwe, eerlijke en energieke muziek, heten u welkom in de kroeg. Scrum brengt een anderhalf durend powerfolkfeest, geïnspireerd door o.a. The Dubliners, Flogging Molly en Dropkick Murphys. Een uitgewerkte balans tussen eigen werk en Schotse en Ierse Folk traditionals.

Scrum ever went to Scotland to be inspired. That was in 2008 and it is hindsight largely succeeded. After two seasons 'A night at the pub', which Scrum was introduced to the theater and theater-loving Netherlands with Scrum, the pub grown. A new interior, new stories, new whiskeys and of course new songs are the result.

"Close your eyes and imagine yourself in a Scottish pub ..." Nothing further from the truth at this theater.

You get addicted to the excitement and fun of these musicians. In their own theater pub they experience every night especially great, frenzied outbursts, which are interspersed with small intense moments. Enjoy to the fullest of togetherness, friendship, music and drinks. The acoustic folk with a variety of instruments (guitars, violin, banjo, mandolin, accordion, drums, piano, tin whistle and bagpipes) makes you leave the room with a smile.

In "A Night of Tunes an 'Tales' Scrum again brings the Scottish music feel alive, in the same way as experienced in the Scottish and Irish pubs: no evening is the same!
