The Supreme Court has heard final submissions from the Crown in the Māori Council's water appeal case, forcing David Goddard QC to concede that MOM companies have no obligation to comply with the Treaty. Goddard warned the highest court in the land not to go too far in supervising treaty compliance, a contention that earned him a sarcastic rebuke from the bench.
