The Climate Reality Project, founded and chaired by former Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore, is dedicated to unleashing a global cultural movement demanding action on the climate crisis. Despite overwhelming international scientific consensus on climate change, the global community still lacks the resolve to implement meaningful solutions. With a global movement more than 5 million strong and a grassroots network of thousands of Climate Leaders trained by Chairman Al Gore, we stand up to denial, press for solutions, and spread the truth about climate change to empower our leaders to solve the climate crisis. In 2011 we held our inaugural 24 Hours of Reality event- a groundbreaking, global online conversation. Due to its success, 24 Hours of Reality is now an annual event. The first and second annual broadcast events broke records with over 16 million views, 15 million unique users, and 165 million impressions. This year, on October 22, 2013 live from a studio in Los Angeles, we will launch The Third Annual 24 Hours of Reality to educate viewers on the financial and personal costs of carbon pollution. The economic price is astronomical- but the cost of carbon is bigger and deeper than just numbers. It is being paid in lives and lifestyles, jobs and wellbeing. It is a human story, one we want to give a voice to.
