Learning to improvise on the guitar is one of the most creative and rewarding things that you can do. The big challenge for a beginner though, is to bridge the gap between just playing scales and playing the music that is actually inside of you. Making music with the pentatonic scale is a great way to start because it is one of the fundamental building blocks of pretty much any musical style and can be used as a stepping stone to develop a full musical vocabulary.
