Finding common values in uncommon disorders | RITA SETH | TEDxKNC |
|
Rita Seth talks about her impactful mental health program, 'Sambandh', that helps patients with mental disorders to not just sustain themselves, but also be self-sufficient and earn for themselves. Rita Seth runs a mental health group called Sambandh, which not only aims at equipping members with self sustaining habits but also runs on the voluntary help provided by the patients who they refer to as members. “We’ve never gone without having a meal at the centre in so many years, members always volunteer.”- says Rita Seth.
With a focus on the core values of respect along with lending a listening ear, while seeing a person with illness as a fellow human, can help enable them to live as dignified humans in the society and not as patients. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx |
