" ...That evening we quickly fell asleep, and woke up only the next morning from the sound of a strong blizzard outside the window. I looked out the window and saw a blizzard that I had never seen before in my life. The snow flew past at such a tremendous speed that it was difficult to keep track of it. Then I decided to go outside, but to my surprise the door was locked. At first I did not understand what was the matter, but then the thought came to me that the door was blocked because of the snow. I looked out the window again, about 4 feet of snow fell, and in some places even more. I tried again with more force to open the door, but this also did not work. I didn’t know what to do, I couldn’t get out, there was no connection either. Buddy and I were trapped, it was a little scary. I decided not to panic and just wait and think about what to do next. An hour passed, I really wanted to eat, but there was no food in the hut. I ate the pies that Wilhelm gave me yesterday. Suddenly I remembered that I had a candy bar in my backpack. I took it out and began to eat, it helped me a little to satisfy my hunger. Buddy was fortunately full as he had dog food. It was warm and cozy in the hut, the fireplace was burning, there was a lot of firewood, that comforted me. Another 2 hours passed, and suddenly I heard a strange sound outside the front door. I decided to look out the window, but I could not see anything because it was covered with snow outside. The strange sound of shuffling did not stop, and grew with every minute. Then I heard a knock on the door, at first I did not want to go up and open it, but I did it anyway. Pushing back the massive bolt and opening the door, I saw a man in a canvas coat, his face was covered with a scarf, and he held a shovel in his hands. In the first seconds, I was very frightened and wanted to close the door, but this man propped it up with a shovel, and then burst out laughing. To my surprise and happiness it was Wilhelm. He went inside, all his clothes were iced over. He took off his scarf and hat, and then told me that he had been clearing snow from the path for about three hours to get to Buddy and me. He threw off his large and heavy backpack, which was full of food and delicious dishes prepared for us by his wife, and said: “Here Richard, these are the products for you and some of the dishes that Madeleine prepared for you this morning. Try not to leaving the hut, the radio said that the snowstorm would continue for about three more days, so you'd better stay here in a safe place all this time. I'll come tomorrow morning and bring you something to eat again. And when the blizzard is over, you can go further where you planned. "Then he said goodbye and left. I was immensely grateful to Wilhelm for his care. And Buddy and I had another 3 days of rest in a cozy hut in the middle of the forest. " To be continued...
