2. SOUNDBITE (English) Mandy Walker, cinematographer for "Elvis!"
"I hope so. I hope I opened doors for other female cinematographers and other diverse crews. But fingers crossed, no matter what happens I am really happy to be here and excited."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Sara Dosa, director, nominated for documentary "Fire of Love":
"There is so many people that I am just in awe of and inspired by on this journey. I had a really meaningful conversation with Alfonso Cuarón whose film, 'Y Tu Mama Tambien' had a huge influence on me, and we even studied it when we were developing the narration for our film. Sarah Polley has been a hero of mine for a really long time and great to meet her. There's so many people. I sat next to the visual effects team from 'Top Gun' and just hearing about it at the nominees luncheon and hearing about like the magic of their work. It's just been a surreal adventure getting to meet so many people and learn so many things on this ride."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Sara Dosa, director, nominated for documentary "Fire of Love":
"One of them is standing right next to me, really, when I saw Miranda (July) is me and everyone we know. It was like was one of those tremendous lights. She crafts, like new cinematic language and the work that she does. So I'm genuinely inspired by her and getting to work with her on this film has been such a gift."
7. Wide of David Bradley on carpet
8. SOUNDBITE (English) David Bradley, actor:
"Well, we've all experienced grief to a greater or lesser degree, so you channel your own experiences into every path. A lot of it is you and a lot of it is observation, seeing grief or love or passion in other people. And you just use what you know. And I found it quite easy to get inside of Geppetto. I found that voice because, you know, he (director Guillermo del Toro) just makes it it creates a perfect playground for you to explore doing something. But you can't use your body. You can you can move about as much as you like, but on the on the on the voice work, in the end, it all comes down to you painting a picture with your voice."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Shaunak Sen, director, "All that Breathes":
"I mean, my social media has about 200 notifications just now, so there's a lot of support from the film community, from cinephiles, etc. and everybody's very excited because this is a big voluptuous year for India at the Oscars, there's 'RRR', there's a short called 'Elephant Whisperers', and there's 'All That Breathes.' So it's really, really big. "

12. SOUNDBITE (English) Jamie Lee Curtis, actor:
"Well, I want to work with a lot. I mean, all of the women that I have been nominated with where we've gotten to know each other, I really liked Kerry (Condon), really liked Hong (Chau). I just got to know Angela (Bassett) just a tiny bit. But I'm feeling I don't know. I feel like we all got human with each other, that we became human beings with our own lives and husbands and wives and kids and dogs. And the humanizing takes away the competition. It's not a competition. It's just artists. So I've really enjoyed that by being able to be a part of it. I've enjoyed getting that opportunity to really know each other as people."
