Through the 1980s, the fear of the Mumbai Underworld reigned supreme over the city. Mumbai Police faced an uphill battle against organized crime. But super cop Isaque Bagwan led from the front and fought the mafia using only his ingenuity and his service revolver. In 1982, he led the first 'encounter' in the history of Mumbai Police in which gangster Manya Surve was eliminated near Ambedkar College in Wadala. The incident has become folklore in popular culture and has even been adapted into a movie.

But “Me Against the Mumbai Underworld” is Isaque Bagwan's story in his own words. This no holds barred memoir details his two and a half-decade career during which he investigated the most gruesome crimes they city has ever seen. By telling this tale, Isaque Bagwan has finally fired his last shot and holstered his revolver forever.
