The BJP on Thursday announced its first list of 160 candidates for the Assembly elections in December. In the first list it has dropped almost 25% MLAs hoping to beat the anti-incumbency in the state and has brought in some new faces as it looks to achieve a target of winning 150 seats in the state. The party has ruled Gujarat since 1995 but was reduced to 99 MLAs in 2017 by a resurgent Congress which got 77 seats.
