When your boyfriend pulls away, or when your husband pulls away, there are two elements for you to reflect on.

Are they pulling away because you are being too needy. Did you stop taking care of yourself? Are you waiting for them to do things day in and day out? Are you being a little bit over-bearing? Are you pushing them too hard?

Remember that men need freedom and independence almost above all else. Men need to feel fulfilled and accomplished professionally, and they need freedom and independence to exist. And if you are being too needy and overbearing you're going to push your ex away, or you're going to push your boyfriend or husband away.

Many times a man pulls away because his partner has lost herself and is expecting him to make them happy. It is not your boyfriend's, or husband's, responsibility to make you happy. It is YOUR responsibility to make yourself happy.

If you take ownership of your happiness, you will inspire this man to want to invest in the relationship. He will pursue you, he will chase you, because you will be a bundle of joy, because you will be fun to be around, because you will not be overbearing.

In other instances, a man pulls away because you were too distant by any number of reasons. You stopped nurturing the relationship. And this, unfortunately, is usually when cheating occurs. Cheating occurs because the man is yearning for that sense of validation and feeling like he's still got it, and being a guy.

If you feel like, "My boyfriend is pulling away," don't panic, don't put your man on a pedestal, don't act needy and desperate, don't let that fear of losing him take over, otherwise you will lose him forever.
