Social connection through music | Kazem Abdullah | TEDxRWTHAachen |
|
When was the last time you visited a theater performance? For hundreds of years this art form has been a cultural cornerstone of many societies, and still is for good reason. In his talk, Kazem Abdullah makes use of several examples of performances to show just how well the art of opera can transmit powerful emotions and help connect through music.
A vibrant, versatile and compelling presence on the podium, American conductor Kazem Abdullah is one of the most watched up-and-coming talents on the international stage today. Since 2012 he is the chief musical director of the City of Aachen where he leads both the orchestral and operatic seasons. Among his orchestral credits are the Berliner Kammerphilharmonie, Chicago Sinfonietta and the National Arts Center Orchestra of Ottawa. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
