And I listened, and I heard Hammers beating, night and day, In the palace newly reared, Beating it to dust and clay: Other hammers, muffled hammers, Silent hammers of decay. ~ Stupidity Street by Ralph Hodgson ~ I saw with open eyes Singing birds sweet Sold in the shops For people to eat, Sold in the shops of Stupidity Street.
