One day in Hampshire, He took down his Pampshire, Though the Bishop compelled him to Walisbury. ~ Limerick 2 by Unknown ~ An engine driver called Hunt, Once took out an engine to shunt. Saw a runaway truck, And by calling out "Duck!", Saved the life of the fellow in front! ~ Limerick 3 by Unknown ~ There was an old man of Japan, Whose limericks never would scan. When they asked why it was, He said it's because, I always try to cram as many syllables into the last line as I possibly can. ~ Limerick 4 by Dr Iain McGilchrist ~ There was a dirty old man of Japan, Who could never get his limericks to scan properly, or rhyme. When they asked why it was, He said, well, basically, I'm not a poet. |
