Former 2020 Democratic presidential candidates -- including Sens. Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders; former Mayor Pete Buttigieg; former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke; and entrepreneur Andrew Yang -- spoke in support of Joe Biden on the final night of the Democratic National Convention. Klobuchar remembered receiving a call of support from Biden after giving a floor speech to a mostly empty Senate chamber: “That goes to his kindness for calling me...but also how much he cares about our government,” said Klobuchar. “Even when he’s at home at night, he’s watching.” Other former candidates expressed confidence that Biden could move the party forward on issues such as climate change and racial justice. The coronavirus pandemic upended both parties’ traditional conventions. Instead of in-person events, the program each night features a number of speakers and musical performances virtually across the country.
