May 2nd, 2005
Western Conference First Round
Game 4

Tim Duncan scored 39 points on an efficient night of shooting (13-23 FG and 13-14 at the free throw line) to lead the Spurs to a 126-115 OT win in game 4. The win gave the Spurs a 3-1 lead in the series.

Duncan was aggressive early and kept that aggression going all night long. He was looking to score. Nobody could stop him on this night. Duncan also hauled in 14 rebounds.

Tony Parker scored 29 of his own, Manu Ginobili had 24 points as well.

Earl Boykins led the Nuggets in a huge 2nd half with 32 total points off the bench. Carmelo Anthony scored 28.

Tim Duncan fouled out in OT, when Carmelo Anthony slipped and fell without contact. It was a ludicrous foul to call and one that could have swung momentum back to Denver. Thankfully, Tony Parker helped slam the door shut on the game with Duncan on the bench.

I have fond memories of this game, particularly Duncan responding after a quiet game 3. I was livid at the 6th foul call but I’m glad there was no collapse. We marched into Denver and took both! One of the early highlights of the 2005 title run!

Wanted to post highlights of Tim Duncan to celebrate his induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame 2020. IMO, Duncan is the greatest power forward in NBA history so I believe his induction is well deserved. Masterclass and a gentleman on and off the court.

Congratulations Tim Duncan!
