In "I Am Not Your Negro", writer, civil rights activist and prophet, James Baldwin discusses the issues of race in modern America with his unfinished novel, "Remember This House", which he'd started working on to cope with racial violence and the assassinations of his friends, Medgar Evars, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr.

As I watched the film, it was a haunting reminder of the race and class issues that exist in our country and will force the viewer to confront their harsh realities.

Here, I offer some of my views on the film, James Baldwin and it's relevance to current issues that we face, even now although he wrote the text that inspired the film over 40 years ago.
