Idealization and devaluation is part of the narcissistic abuse cycle that develops into the trauma bond and makes it harder to leave the toxic relationship with the narcissist. They may use love bombing to pull you in and then will discard when their narcissistic supply is sufficiently filled. The narcissist has to be right and if they think you are calling them out or not seeing them as the superior person they think they are, then they will engage in narcissistic punishment tactics such as silent treatment and narcissistic rage. Why does my partner blame me for everything? Because in the eyes of the narcissist you really are the cause of all of the problems. They can’t consider their role in interactions and you will always be the problem, whether you did something wrong or not. Your partner blames you for everything as part of their blame shifting and projection. In this video I discuss how you can deal with the narcissist that always makes you the problem.
